A Supportive Space to Navigate University Life
University is a time of incredible growth, but it also brings unique pressures—from academic burnout and identity exploration to navigating life away from home for the first time. At Haven Wellness Collective, we provide a warm, neurodiversity-affirming space for UBC students to decompress, process, and build resilience.
Located just a 10-minute bus ride from the UBC bus loop via the 99 B-Line, our Kitsilano office offers a quiet, off-campus space where you can step away from the “campus bubble” and focus entirely on your well-being and mental health.

Using Your UBC AMS/GSS Insurance at Haven Wellness
The #1 question we get from students is: “Is this covered?”
Yes. Most UBC undergraduate and graduate students are covered under the AMS/GSS Pacific Blue Cross Health Plan.
-
Coverage: This plan typically provides significant annual coverage for sessions with a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC).
-
How it works: We provide you with a detailed receipt after each session, which you can easily upload to the Pacific Blue Cross portal for reimbursement.
-
Sliding Scale: We understand that student budgets can be tight. We offer a limited number of sliding-scale spots and lower-cost options with our Master’s level clinicians.
Common Challenges We Support UBC Students With:
-
Academic Burnout & Perfectionism: Managing the high expectations of UBC’s rigorous programs while maintaining your mental health.
-
ADHD & Executive Functioning: Specialized support for neurodivergent students navigating coursework, deadlines, and self-regulation.
-
International Student Transitions: Support for students navigating a new culture, language barriers, and the distance from family and home.
-
Graduate Student Stress: Navigating the unique pressures of research, thesis defense, and supervisor dynamics.
-
Identity & Relationships: A safe, 2SLGBTQI+ and BIPOC-affirming space to explore identity, boundaries, and social dynamics.

Why Choose Off-Campus Counselling?
While UBC offers excellent on-campus resources, many students prefer Haven Wellness for:
-
Consistency: You can see the same therapist long-term throughout your entire degree.
-
Specialized Care: Access to specific modalities like EMDR, Somatic Therapy, and Art Therapy that may not be available on campus.
-
Privacy: A physical and mental break from the campus environment, ensuring your healing happens in a neutral, private space.
While we specialize in supporting the unique needs of the UBC community, our team is dedicated to university student mental health across all of British Columbia. Not a UBC student? We also provide specialized support for students at SFU, BCIT, and other Vancouver colleges
